Pumpkin is not just great in pie...

I know most of the time when you think pumpkin you either think pie or Halloween carving. But do you ever think of what it can do for your dry winter skin? I did and it's wonderful, here's a recipe for a facial mask I found that helps alleviate dry, windburned, facial skin without harsh chemicals or thick greasy lotions.

2tsp canned pumpkin (not the pie mix)
1/2 tsp honey
1/4 tsp milk (whole or butter milk are best)
1/4 tsp heavy cream or 1/2 brown sugar
mix well, spread in an even layer on your face, let sit for 15 minutes and wash off with warm water, then pat dry.

Got dry winter skin after a nice hot bath or shower? Add a bit of buttermilk, cream, or honey to your bath time routine and come away with baby soft skin.

Dry winter air making your sinuses hurt? Create a mini steamer using a bowl of boiling water, a drop of eucalyptus oil and a towel. Place bowl on table, add a drop or 2 to the water swirl with a spoon to mix, lean over with towel covering your head and bowl. Make sure your towel is large enough to keep your face a good 12 inches or more from the bowl, sit and inhale the steam for 5 minutes or more. Good news plain old steam helps clear your pores as well.
